Hamas supporters wage war on Christmas with false genocide claim

Pro-Hamas groups in Western countries have launched an assault on Christmas celebrations which includes vandalizing public displays and demanding Christmas be canceled.

Rockefeller Center

In New York City, throngs of demonstrators waving PLO flags and sporting keffiyeh scarves flooded 5th Avenue near the Rockefeller Christmas Tree on Sunday, where they disrupted the tree-lighting ceremony and harassed holiday shoppers. The protesters declared that Christmas must be canceled because of Israel’s retaliation for the October 7th massacre on its citizens by Hamas.

Genocide?

“People everywhere must continue to declare that there can be no Christmas as usual during a genocide!” demanded the group Shut It Down for Palestine, which made plans to “organize actions to boycott, disrupt, and rally at commercial centers on Dec. 23.”

Despite the genocide claim, Israel's ratio of one or two civilian deaths for each Hamas member killed is extraordinarily low for combat against an enemy completely entrenched in the civilian population, indicating that the IDF is only targeting terrorists, all of whom have the option of surrendering.

Australia

In Melbourne, pro-Hamas operatives Sunday disrupted Carols by Candlelight, an annual Christmas event hosted by Vision Australia to benefit blind children. The demonstrators rushed the stage waving PLO flags and keffiyehs.

France

In Toulouse, France, Hamas supporters also planted a PLO flag atop a public Christmas tree.

Canada

In Toronto last week, Hamas supporters wearing keffiyehs threatened to kill holiday shoppers at the Eaton Centre shopping mall and destroy the Christmas tree on display.

In other Canadian malls Hamas supporters have been storming Christmas ceremonies, frightening children who came to sit on Santa’s lap.

West Coast

In San Francisco, Hamas supporters vandalized the Macy’s Union Square Christmas tree by shutting off its lights, destroying its ornaments and hanging a PLO flag in their place.

Earlier this month, supporters of Hamas forced the City of California to reschedule its Christmas ceremony and move it online.

California’s annual tree-lighting ceremony, held every year in a public gathering for nearly 100 years, was scheduled for December 5th. But after learning that the Sacramento Regional Coalition for Palestinian Rights planned to march on the Capitol that night, California Governor Gavin Newsom decided to hold the event virtually due to “protests across the country.”

“As we continue to see protests across the country impacting the safety of events of all scales — and for the safety and security of all participating members and guests including children and families — the ceremony this year will be virtual,” Newsom said in a statement.

On Wednesday morning, hours after Newsom’s decision, other Hamas supporters hoisted the PLO flag above the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
