‘We are terrified’ of second Trump term, says UN official

A United Nations official was caught on hidden camera last week saying the organization is not likely to survive another Trump term, a prospect that he said has UN personnel “terrified.”

An undercover journalist from Mug Club Undercover secretly recorded a conversation she had with Jorge Paoletti, an associate legal officer in the UN Office of Legal Affairs’ treaty section. Paoletti proudly described himself as “the definition of a globalist” and expressed hatred for the “MAGA movement.”

“It’s a movement that is deeply nationalistic,” he said. “It’s America first, make America great again, America, America, America.” The official went on to claim that Trump supporters “hate immigrants” and anyone who “doesn’t think like us, doesn’t look like us.”

Paoletti correctly intimated that President Trump, who has been outspoken about his disdain for globalism, is a threat to globalist institutions. During his first term, Trump signaled he would support a United States withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). If the US, which foots 27% of the UN’s budget, were to withdraw from the United Nations, it could pose an existential challenge to the hopes for a globalist world order.

“I’m not sure the United Nations as an institution is going to survive a second term by Donald Trump,” said Paoletti. “I mean, we are terrified. They’re terrified,” he added.

One identity to rule them all

The United Nations, in Paoletti’s words, aspires to be a globalist world government that rules over Earth’s citizens, all of whom would be forced to adhere to a uniform identity.

“One of the objectives of the UN is to create an identity of a global citizen . . . of someone who shares an identity, a political identity, with everyone on this planet,” he said.

Paoletti lamented, however, that the UN is not as effective as it should be — though this could change if the organization had military power.

“The United Nations does not have its own army,” Paoletti said.

“Should it?” the Mug Club Undercover journalist asked.

“Absolutely,” the official responded.

He also suggested that the UN is prepared to engage in lawfare against Trump should he “go rogue,” though Paoletti did not elaborate. Such lawfare could include bringing Trump before human rights tribunals.
