WATCH: Saudi businessman 'suddenly collapses, dies' mid-speech
A Saudi businessman Monday collapsed suddenly during a speech at the Arab-African Conference in Cairo, according to news.com.au. Muhammad Al-Qahtani, a resident of the United Arab Emirates, was carried to another room by security guards at the scene, where he was pronounced dead.
Al-Qahtani was the chairman of the board of Al Salaam Holding Company, and “held many honorary positions as a goodwill ambassador.”
According to news.com.au, Arabi21 reported the event was attended by representatives of international, regional and Arab bodies and organizations, as well as a number of ambassadors and Arab personalities.
Al-Qahtani's cause of death remains unclear.
While a sharp increase in “sudden deaths” has mainstream media and their medical allies baffled – terming the phenomenon Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS), for lack of a better name – perhaps more puzzling is the consistent silence about the cause of death in nearly all cases.
Though it has been over two months since the “sudden death” of Congressman Sean Casten’s (D-IL) 17-year-old daughter Gwen, a cause of death has yet to be announced. Since the girl died in her sleep in June, neither the congressman nor the media have called for an investigation or responded to America’s Frontline News’ request for an update.
On Friday, children were forced to fly eight hours next to the body of their mother after she “died suddenly” in her sleep during a flight from Honk Kong to Britain, reported America’s Frontline News.
No cause of death was announced.
Last month, four celebrities died unexpectedly within one week of each other, including 35-year-old Notre Dame football star Paul Duncan, 50-year-old NFL football star Charles Johnson, 41-year-old The Voice and America’s Got Talent star Nolan Neal, and 44-year-old Elvis actress Shonka Dukureh.
No cause of death was announced.
Last month, six young Canadian physicians – three of whom worked at the same hospital – died within two weeks of each other. The doctors include a 27-year-old mother and a 50-year-old Olympic athlete.

Around the same time, 20-year-old college basketball star Derek Gray died unexpectedly after suffering a ‘cardiac event’.
No further explanation has been shared.
Last month, 13-year-old Athumani Brown suddenly dropped dead during a school trip, reportedly from cardiac arrest.
The boy was deemed to have died from “natural causes.”
There have been no persistent calls for public health authorities to investigate the cause of these deaths and many others like them. For their part, public health authorities continue to remain silent on the issue.
