Trudeau gets COVID-19 again, thanks vaccine again

Triple-vaccinated Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday that he has tested positive for COVID-19 again, the second time since January. As he did the first time, Trudeau thanked the vaccine and urged others to get more shots, though his wording Monday implied that the unvaccinated do not feel “okay” when infected with COVID-19. 

“I’ve tested positive for COVID-19. I’ll be following public health guidelines and isolating,” the prime minister tweeted. “I feel okay, but that’s because I got my shots. So, if you haven’t, get vaccinated - and if you can, get boosted. Let’s protect our healthcare system, each other, and ourselves.” 

Trudeau has recently returned from the Summit of the Americas, a conference attended by Western Hemisphere leaders, held this year in Los Angeles from June 6-10.  

Though three shots failed to protect him from the illness twice, Trudeau’s announcement appeared to double down on vaccine promotion since the first time he caught COVID. 

“This morning, I tested positive for COVID-19,” he tweeted in January. “I’m feeling fine – and I’ll continue to work remotely this week while following public health guidelines. Everyone, please get vaccinated and get boosted.” 

Many social media users did not have the docile reaction to Trudeau’s announcement he seemed to expect. 

“Double-masked and triple-vaxxed Justin Trudeau, who turned his country into a fascist state where the unvaxxed are still banned from air and train travel, just tested positive for Covid for a second time.” 

“Not really a glowing review for a vaccine you've used to control an entire populations movement. How come you get to travel, whilst still being able to catch and spread, and the unvaxxed Canadians with the EXACT same risk, cannot?” 

“I’m triple vaxxed and currently in the hospital with a mild case of myocarditis. I’ve been here 4 weeks and just found out I’m Covid positive. I’ve felt really awful for 7 days but Thank god I'm vaccinated or it would be so much worse!” 

“LOL you would totally thank Trojan for getting a lesser case of STD after using their product.” 

“3x and you still haven't figured out it doesn't work? What will it take?” 

“Is this a parody?? I can’t tell anymore.” 

“So you're admitting and proving yet again that the shots don't protect against infection, and since you were traveling amongst only vaccinated people, you most likely got it from one of them, who also weren't protected from getting or giving it by their shots either.”
