Left calls to impeach Clarence Thomas over wife’s texts
Leftists are calling for Supreme Court Justice Thomas’ impeachment over texts his wife, Ginni, sent.
The Washington Post and CBS News have released a series of 29 texts sent by Ginni Thomas to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows in 2020, in the weeks following the presidential election.
Thomas asked Meadows to investigate the contested 2020 election results.
“Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!!” Ginni reportedly said in one text. “You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.”
Meadows wrote, ““I will stand firm. We will fight until there is no fight left. Our country is too precious to give up on. Thanks for all you do.”
Justice Clarence Thomas was the only justice to side with former President Trump in his bid in January 2022 to withhold records from the January 6 Committee. Despite the fact that the Supreme Court sided against Trump, the Left now wants Clarence Thomas impeached.
“In a functioning Democracy, Clarence Thomas would be Impeached,” tweeted Hollywood actor and filmmaker Rob Reiner.
“The revelations that Ginni Thomas advocated for the overthrow of our democracy are disqualifying — not just for her as a human being of any decency, but for her husband Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas,” a statement from Women’s March in a statement posted to Twitter.
“From the day he was nominated to the Court, Thomas has always acted less like a reasonable jurist and more like his wife — that is to say a professional conservative activist,” she added. “He is hopelessly compromised, conflicted, and corrupt, and he must be impeached IMMEDIATELY.”
Other Leftist groups such as MoveOn and the American Federation of Teachers are calling for Justice Thomas to be investigated, along with Democratic Congressmen.
These outraged calls for impeachment come just after Thomas recovered from a bout of COVID-19, during with the Left on social media called for his death.
“I sure hope a certain thing happens,” wrote one user.
“Is it wrong to wish ill will on someone who is helping to destroy our country?” tweeted another.
“I really hoped for better news when I open the tweet but dare not admit what I was hoping to find. Coming home in a few days, huh?” said another.
“We all would've be better off if Thomas died this week, and a Justice Jackson would have been able to take his place next month,” tweeted entrepreneur Tim Maliyil.
On Friday, comedian Bill Maher claimed that Republicans “would be thrilled to have no black seats on the [Supreme] court,” despite the Left’s historic hatred for Thomas since his nomination in 1991 by former President George H.W. Bush.
Then, the Left accused Thomas of sexual misconduct, as they did Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his nomination in 2018. The justice was attacked so viciously by then-Senator Joe Biden and Senator Ted Kennedy that he called it a “lynching”.
“This is a circus. It’s a national disgrace,” Thomas said at the time. “And from my standpoint, as a black American, it is a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, this is what will happen to you. You will be lynched, destroyed, caricatured by a committee of the U.S. Senate rather than hung from a tree.”
