RFK to FDA: ‘Pack your bags’
Trump team member Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. put the public health industry on notice Wednesday with warnings to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just hours after Trump’s landslide victory.
Kennedy, who joined the Trump campaign after abandoning his own presidential bid, has promised to “make America healthy again” by weeding out the corruption from the government’s public health apparatus. For decades, Kennedy has been heavily vilified and shunned for his probes into the pharmaceutical industry, particularly vaccines. He has also publicly warned about dangerous toxins like atrazine, a feminizing pesticide found in America’s water supply.
‘They’re not protecting our kids’
Now, Kennedy has vowed to gut entire departments from the public health agencies.
“In some categories of workers, their entire departments, like the nutrition departments at FDA . . . have to go,” he said in an interview Wednesday with MSNBC, slamming these public health bodies for “not doing their jobs.”
“They’re not protecting our kids. Why do we have Fruit Loops in our country that have 18 or 19 ingredients when in Canada they have two or three?” he continued.
When asked whether he would eliminate any agencies entirely, Kennedy said he might only do so if it doesn’t require congressional approval. Either way, he vowed to sift out the corruption.
“I can get the corruption out of the agencies,” he added. “This is what I’ve been doing for 40 years. I’ve sued all those agencies. I have a PhD in corporate corruption and that’s what I do. And once they’re not corrupt, once Americans are getting good signs and are allowed to make their own choices, they’re going to get a lot healthier.”
‘Pack your bags’
Last month, Kennedy issued a public warning to FDA executives to “pack their bags.”
“FDA’s war on public health is about to end,” he wrote on X. “This includes its aggressive suppression of psychedelics, peptides, stem cells, raw milk, hyperbaric therapies, chelating compounds, ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, vitamins, clean foods, sunshine, exercise, nutraceuticals and anything else that advances human health and can't be patented by Pharma. If you work for the FDA and are part of this corrupt system, I have two messages for you: 1. Preserve your records, and 2. Pack your bags.”
Trump gives Kennedy free rein
In his victory speech, Trump explained he has given Kennedy carte blanche to reform America’s public health system. He quipped that the only policy he has asked Kennedy not to interfere with is domestic oil drilling, given that Kennedy is an environmentalist.
"He wants to do some things and we're going to let him go to it,” Trump said. "I just said, ‘But Bobby, leave the oil to me. We have more liquid gold — oil and gas — more liquid gold than any country in the world, more than Saudi Arabia. We have more than Russia. Bobby, stay away from the liquid gold. Other than that, go have a good time, Bobby.”
