Ottawa truckers hold press conference speaking directly to supporters

The briefing opened on the topic of the movement of trucks out of residential areas. “People might be nervous because they notice that trucks are starting to move around the city and change positions.  This has nothing to do with any sort of negotiation with the City of Ottawa.

“The movements are being coordinated by the operations group along with the truckers that are in Ottawa with a sole purpose to try to get out of the residential areas because our intention was never to be an inconvenience to the residents of Ottawa.”

Regarding supplies, "[We] continue supplying our friendly demonstrators with their needs to keep them comfortable, we continue to do so and quite efficiently.

“[The] donations [of food] that have been given to us, we take only what is needed, and the biggest challenge that we have right now is taking that excess donated food and supplying in to the local shelters.”

Pat King addressed the truckers saying, “We are in no way going to back away from you. I will be the last man to leave Ottawa.  We came here to do something, we have a whole world watching us. It is our duty to continue on with this absolutely phenomenal movement.

“Hold the line ladies and gentlemen! Do not back down! We got your backs.  We got your six, and we ain't leaving you alone. We're here for you.”

The group is asking for stories of people who have been negatively affected by the COVID policies, so they can stick them in the fence surrounding Parliament Hill. “We need those voices that can no longer speak for themselves.“ Personal stories can be sent to freedomconvoy05@gmail.com.

In talking about the financial side, Dana said, "We have veterans that have come forward to help us do collection throughout the community. This has been incredibly helpful for emergency situations that have tide us over while we are trying to release the well-needed funds.”

A Grassroots organization called the family Express Support Funds, has also started a program where they “pair off a donor with a recipient so they work directly between a family or truck driver and a supporter.” Donors can participate in the program at www.fcfes.ca or fund the truckers at https://freedomconvoytoken.com/.

Regarding the Emergencies Act that has been initiated by the prime minister, one of the spokesmen said, “Now is the tipping point where we need to band together even more. They're coming at us with this Emergency Act. The Emergency Act still has to be passed through parliament, and [the support is] not there.  It's a scare tactic.

“Now is the time for Canada to unite as one and help each other out, even more, this is just the beginning, to the end.

“I have to ask [everyone] across the country get to your borders, get to your cities, come to Ottawa.

“In Alberta, at Coutts, I know there are people leaving. Please don't leave. Stand your ground. There's help coming from the south.

“The intention of everybody here is to support each other, stand together and unite to get back what we never should have lost.”

In concluding their statements, Jeff added, “I am sure that I will never experience as much love and unity and peace as we have thus far in our journey.”
