Israel Health Minister confronted, shouted down for mask hypocrisy

Israel Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz was shouted down at an event recently and was seemingly chased out by protestors.

A video shows Horowitz, unmasked, grinning as he mingles with a crowd of people in a room. According to current Health Ministry regulations, all individuals are required to wear masks indoors, including children in schools.

In the video, a woman begins shouting at Horowitz.

“Here he is, the Great Liar! The Great Liar is here! This cheat, this liar, walking around without a mask in a closed space while my children for six hours a day are going around with a mask!”

The Minister of Health makes a gesture that she’s too loud and is unable to hear.

A man can also be heard on a megaphone challenging Horowitz: “Why are you not in a mask?”

The minister again gestures that it’s too loud and he can’t hear anything.

They continue to shout at the minister, calling him a “liar” and a “scoundrel” until he turns around and leaves the room, escorted by his posse. He is followed by screams accusing him of selling out children by forcing them to wear masks, selling out the political Meretz faction, and selling out the State of Israel.

As Minister of Health, Horowitz was one of the chief architects of Israel’s harsh response to COVID-19, which included multiple lockdowns and vaccine mandates. Horowitz helped introduce and enforce the world’s first vaccine passport.

In September, a conversation between Horowitz and Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked was caught on hot mic, in which the health minister revealed that the vaccine passport is being used purely as a tool of coercion, since there is no epidemiological evidence for many places where they require it.

As reported by Frontline News on Monday, Israel’s Ministry of Health has no scientific basis for its two-year mask mandate.

During a Knesset Health Committee hearing last week, the Health Ministry was unable to produce scientific evidence in favor of mask mandates as Attorney Oren Pasternak made a compelling case for abolishing masks, particularly for children, citing scientific evidence.

Furthermore, documents released in December under Israel's freedom of information act revealed that Israel’s Health Ministry knew full well that masks had “no strong scientific basis”.  They imposed mask mandates on the populace anyway, on pain of fines and police brutality, to send an “educational” message to increase COVID compliance.
