Fraudster who scammed civil liberties group faces arrest

A fraudster involved in a Trojan horse scam of noted civil liberties organization America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) faces potential arrest after giving false testimony in court.

An attempted coup

AFLDS defends human rights like medical freedom, child protection from medical mutilation, and free speech. It was founded in 2020 by Dr. Simone Gold in response to totalitarian COVID-19 policies that were based on government pseudoscience. Under Dr. Gold’s leadership, AFLDS became highly popular among the public and heavily targeted by legacy media.

But the organization’s growing popularity attracted grifters who sought to exploit its success. They infiltrated the group and attempted an unlawful coup while Dr. Gold was in prison for being at the US Capitol on January 6th. The infiltrators declared themselves the new leaders of AFLDS and made a slew of unauthorized decisions. One of those decisions was to appoint a man named Kevin Jenkins as “Chairman of the Oversight Committee.” Not only did the infiltrators have no authority to make such an appointment, but Jenkins had no formal connection to ALFDS and had done nothing to further the organization’s interests. Nevertheless, the saboteurs fraudulently handed Jenkins full access to AFLDS funds.

Although the attempted coup was easily shattered in court, to this day Jenkins still falsely claims to be the CEO of AFLDS. While he has no duties or responsibilities at the organization, nor has he ever been hired by the organization, he continues to have access to an AFLDS bank account containing some earlier donated funds. The account was originally frozen to prevent Jenkins from continuing to draw a fake salary and making other unauthorized uses of the account, but not before he fooled a major bank and absconded with hundreds of thousands of dollars in donor funds.

'I’ve never seen anything like this'

AFLDS is therefore suing Jenkins, who is resorting to using desperate measures — including perjury — to maintain his bizarre claims to leadership of the organization and the right to a salary. At an explosive hearing on December 16, Jenkins was found to have given false testimony and may now face arrest, prosecution, and sanctions.

Jenkins has been in willful contempt of court for months after repeatedly failing to comply with court orders to produce certain AFLDS bank statements and other financial records. Monday’s hearing was set to hear oral arguments on three motions filed by Jenkins in which he claimed that he was never properly served the lawsuit complaint, that he never received the court orders leading to a default judgment, and that even if he did, he never had access to AFLDS bank accounts.

This strategy quickly fell apart under cross-examination by AFLDS counsel. To support his claim of not being served any court documents, Jenkins said his one-time “cleaning lady” signed for them at his home while he was away. He told the court he is unaware of his one-time cleaning lady’s identity or whereabouts.

Circuit Court Judge Susan Barthle denied the motion, saying Jenkins’ explanations and evidence were “simply not credible.”

“The unknown cleaning lady who’s apparently allowed in someone’s personal residential home while he’s not even home and he doesn’t even know her name and has no idea — [she’s] getting into a vehicle and someone asks, ‘Hey, can you come clean his house?’” Judge Barthle said, sparking laughter among court attendees.

When questioned why he has not produced the bank statements ordered by the court, Jenkins said under oath it was because he had “limited authority” to access AFLDS bank accounts, and he was only granted access “from time to time” on an ad hoc basis. Jenkins’ previous declaration to the court had claimed he never had any access to AFLDS accounts at all.

During further questioning, ALFDS counsel produced several documents showing that Jenkins had been granted sweeping financial authority and broad access to AFLDS funds, together with his alleged appointment as CEO. It soon became clear to the court that he had repeatedly lied under oath and did in fact have the ability to produce the bank statements and other financial records the entire time.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” said AFLDS counsel, who asked the judge to sanction Jenkins and refer him for arrest and criminal prosecution. “He lied to the court clear as day,” he added.

Judge Barthle agreed, saying AFLDS had produced “clear and convincing contradictory evidence of [Jenkins’] testimony.”

“There’s no question that the testimony here today, and the evidence here today, is in absolute direct conflict of Mr. Jenkins’ sworn declaration. There’s no way around that,” said the judge.

“In the initial stages of this case, I said point blank, ‘You need to produce the documents.’ I did an order to that effect,” Barthle continued. “And his argument has always been, ‘I don’t have the authority.’ Not ‘I have limited authority’ or ‘from time to time I have authority’ — ‘I have no authority.’ And [defense counsel] here trying to convince me through argument that this was ‘from time to time’ . . . I’m not buying any of it. I don’t know what’s going on here but I’m not finding anything credible about the defense’s arguments today.”

The judge grew audibly angry when, despite her statement, Jenkins’ attorney continued to make those very arguments.

“I don’t want to hear that again!” Barthle said in a raised voice. “There is nothing in the record before me in any of these documents that has any limitations on [his authority] whatsoever! So stop arguing and wasting words on that. And I don’t want to hear ‘[from] time to time’! I don’t want to hear that.”

Judge Barthle denied all Jenkins’ motions to quash service and the default judgment and gave him five days to produce the requested documents or be arrested.

A 'track record of fraud, embezzlement, misappropriation, and deceit'

“What Mr. Jenkins did to Dr. Gold is deeply troubling, and now he has just five days to produce the bank statements that will prove he lied and stole money from America’s Frontline Doctors, while also defaming and slandering Dr. Simone Gold,” tweeted author and political strategist Angela Stanton King. “For over two years, he has evaded the judge, process servers, and criminal investigations, but that ends now. If he fails to produce the required documents, jail time awaits him.”

Jenkins previously inserted himself into Stanton King’s nonprofit American King Foundation, which supports criminal justice reform, and misused funds reportedly intended to benefit the black community.

“I wasn’t surprised to see this happen to Dr. Gold—he did the same to me and our organization,” Stanton King added. “This is a season of victory and vindication. The countdown has begun!”

Pastor Aaron Lewis, a former AFLDS board member, said last year that Jenkins has a history of fraud and has misappropriated AFLDS funds.

“Upon information and belief, Mr. Jenkins has strategically selected various people from the medical freedom community and constitutional patriots to act as cohorts in helping him secure funds not for AFLDS but rather to enrich his personal interest and those with whom he has made promises,” Pastor Lewis wrote in a letter. “When questioned about any topic Mr. Jenkins feels unobligated to answer, his answer is always met with expletives and vulgarities, never with sound responses. Upon information and belief, I have discovered that much of the accusations Mr. Jenkins has levied against Dr. Gold and others are a direct link to his track record of fraud, embezzlement, misappropriation, and deceit.”
