COVID architect says vaccine mandate was a miscommunication

After Americans lost their jobs and were censored for challenging the government’s vaccine narrative during the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the pandemic’s main architects is now chalking it up to a miscommunication.

Dr. Deborah Birx served as the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator in February 2020 under President Donald Trump. She has been called “the face of COVID” and was instrumental in mandates like masking, social distancing, and isolation. In December 2020, she maintained that the general US population could only achieve herd immunity if 70%-80% take the mRNA vaccine.

‘We didn’t explain’

On Wednesday, however, Birx told Piers Morgan that the vaccine was never designed to protect against infection—a fact that was censored as a “dangerous conspiracy theory” at the time—and that public health agencies failed by not “explaining” the vaccines well enough to the American public.

“What we’ve done wrong in public health is we didn’t explain that COVID vaccines were nothing like the childhood vaccines, and that the childhood vaccines—like many of the diseases, you get it once, you don’t get it again, and this is getting the children to have that disease without getting the deadly consequences. That is not what the COVID vaccine was designed to do. It wasn’t designed against infection,” Birx said.

The former public health official noted that skepticism of vaccines has more than doubled since the pandemic and said “we have to start addressing these things, we can’t just ignore them,” skipping over the fact that skepticism of the COVID vaccine was addressed through mass firings, censorship, and social exclusion.

“The messenger RNA vaccine should have been rolled out for the people that were at risk for severe disease because that’s what the vaccine was developed for,” she added.

‘You didn’t think it was necessary to speak up?!’

Birx’s statements drew outrage from those who were mistreated for saying the same thing during the pandemic. Comedian Dave Smith recalled his appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience during which he and Rogan agreed that children should not get the shots. Smith said Joe Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci “ripped into us” for spreading “dangerous misinformation.”

“There’s nothing that she’s saying here that’s like new information has come out. She’s saying at the time this is what we all knew. Like we knew that the mRNA was not designed to prevent infection. Really? Well you didn’t think it was necessary to speak up . . .?! That was the entire sales pitch of it!”

Smith slammed the medical establishment and “experts” like Birx for complaining about vaccine hesitancy rates.

“How can anyone in the scientific community even complain about anything that’s going on now? . . . It wasn’t incumbent upon you to all stand up and say this at the time? . . . The entire scientific community, in lockstep, was demonizing anybody who said that.”

Civil liberties attorney Laura Powell also registered her outrage.

“Are you kidding me??” she wrote on X. “All of us who said that at the time were maligned and censored. The CDC put the covid shot on the childhood vaccine schedule. Governor Newsom announced it would be required for school attendance. Many children were forced to take the shots to fully participate in society. And now Birx has the nerve to try to frame the whole conflict as some sort of miscommunication.”
