Canadian PM Trudeau continues to threaten COVID-19 mandates
While many governments have been moving on from the COVID-19 pandemic, with Joe Biden even declaring it officially “over,” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appears unable to let go and is still threatening his citizens with an encore of his harsh mandates.
"If we are able to get a high enough level of vaccination, we reduce the danger of having to take other health measures to make sure that we're all safe and not overloading our hospitals," Trudeau said, insisting that citizens take both the flu and COVID-19 injections.
"There are new formulations that cover both Omicron and the original strain of COVID," he added. "We encourage everyone to get those vaccinations to keep pressure off of our hospitals, off our frontline heroes who are working so hard to keep people safe, but also to keep pressure off of our economy and our communities."
The remarks come a month after the czarist leader lifted heavy-handed restrictions which banned even children who refused the shots from riding public transportation.
In an interview reported by America’s Frontline News in April, Trudeau demanded that every single Canadian get injected.
“Well we’ve now vaccinated millions upon millions of Canadians and we need to power through to get to above 75% vaccination.”
By the time of the interview, over 81% of Canadians had already been fully vaccinated. The country’s COVID-19 infections are rising, with 2,581 new cases on Sunday.
Then Trudeau appeared to backtrack and decide that every single Canadian must get the shot.
“If we’re going to do that, everyone, even the ones that are hesitant, need to get that,” he said, before going on to say that there would be lockdowns unless every Canadian gets vaccinated.
Canadians would prefer not to “continue to face lockdowns into the fall,” said the autocrat, “and the way we avoid that is that everyone, of all ages, of all backgrounds, to just get that shot so we can get through this.”
In September, Trudeau again threatened his citizens with restrictions if they don’t get the shots, despite data from Manitoba showing a shocking increase in mortality among those who were injected.
“One of the best things we can do to prevent that wave, prevent the pressure on our healthcare system, prevent provinces from having to make decisions around restrictions and mandates is to make sure that everyone is up to date in their vaccinations,” he said.
"If we are able to hit that 80-90% of Canadians up to date on their vaccinations, we'll have a much better winter with much less need for the kinds of restrictions and rules that were so problematic for everyone over the past years," he added.
The threats were made completely disregarding data from Manitoba showing an alarming spike in mortality among those who were injected.
In July, journalist Alex Berenson reported on official data from the Manitoba government showing that in May, the last month for which data broken down by vaccination status is available, “vaccinated but unboosted people were about 50 percent more likely to be hospitalized or die of Covid than unvaccinated people. People who had received boosters had roughly the same risk of hospitalization or death as the unvaccinated.”
Those were the data for Week 30, the reporting period ending July 30th.
Following the release of these data, the Manitoba government announced that beginning Week 31 (August), it would no longer be including vaccination status in its COVID-19 reports.
“Monthly updates about severe outcomes after vaccination have been discontinued starting Week 31,” says the government in its latest report. “Manitoba Health will continue to monitor COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness and report periodically when data allow. COVID-19 vaccines continue to provide important protection against serious illness following infection due to all variants of concern (VOC) of COVID-19.”
Trudeau, who has built himself a reputation as a dictator, has had his political opponents beaten, denied free press to outlets critical of his regime and froze the bank accounts of those who protested his mandates.
